BizConsulting.ca is a Canadian business consulting service for one kind of moment: when an owner is about to commit real money to a new business, location or product and wants to know whether it will work. We run feasibility studies, market validation, business plans and financial projections. We're part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the work is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA.

Why this site exists

Owners often get advice at the wrong moment. Marketing help usually arrives after the business is open, when the lease, the equipment and the pricing are already fixed. By then, the expensive decisions have been made.

BizConsulting.ca moves the advice earlier. We'd rather spend a few weeks helping you test an idea than months helping you market one that was never going to cover its costs. That means we sometimes recommend not proceeding, or proceeding much smaller than planned. Owners tend to remember that advice longer than any launch campaign.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali Sedighi holds an MBA in Technology Management and has more than 17 years of experience in marketing and business growth, starting in 2007, when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency. He now lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Since then he has founded Conv.ca, which specialises in conversion-rate optimisation, and MyAutomation.ca, and he leads SAZ.ca as its Founder and Managing Partner. His clients have been based in Canada, the USA and Dubai.

A large part of his practical work has been in home heating and HVAC, where he and his team have built more than 150 live HVAC websites. That work matters here because launching a new service line or division is, in effect, a feasibility test run in public: you find out quickly whether buyers respond, at what cost, and how long it takes to break even. The results page describes what those projects show and what transfers to other sectors.

The group behind the brand

BizConsulting.ca sits inside a small family of related firms.

  • Sedighi.ca is Ali Sedighi's growth, marketing and technology consulting company. Among the brands it runs are HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital and Trades.Agency on the marketing side, BusinessConsulting.ca for advisory work, and Conv.ca for conversion testing.
  • SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone), which Ali founded and runs as Managing Partner, advises Canadian companies on strategy, AI and revenue growth.
  • BusinessConsulting.ca publishes the group's consulting rates, which this site uses.

Within that group, BizConsulting.ca is the consulting brand that deals with ideas before they launch. Our focus within it is narrow on purpose: the decision before the launch.

How we work

Our method is the same whatever the idea.

  1. Name the deciding assumptions. Usually three or four, such as weekly demand at your price, cost to win a customer, gross margin and months to break-even.
  2. Set pass marks before looking at evidence. This stops anyone, including us, from reading a weak result as good news.
  3. Gather the cheapest strong evidence first. Public data and competitor pricing before paid tests; paid tests before leases.
  4. Write the verdict down. Go, no-go or not yet, with the condition that would change it.

You can see how this plays out in each service, and the guides show the method in enough detail to try it yourself.

What we are not

Clear limits protect you.

  • We are business and marketing consultants, not lawyers, accountants, lenders or immigration advisers.
  • We don't promise loan, investor or grant approval.
  • We don't prepare financial statements or tax filings. Your CPA does.
  • We name the regulators and registries that may apply to your idea, with links, but the authority itself, or your lawyer, confirms what you need.

Working with us

We work with owners across all ten provinces and three territories, consulting by video call or in person as well as by phone, text and email. The first 30-minute consultation is free, and engagements carry no lock-in; terms are written into your proposal. See pricing for the published rates, or go straight to contact to tell us about the decision you're facing.

Frequently asked questions

Who will I actually work with?

Engagements are led by Ali Sedighi, and you'll speak with a senior strategist rather than a junior account manager. Where a specialist such as a lawyer or CPA is needed for part of the decision, we'll say so and you'll choose and engage them directly.

Is BizConsulting.ca a separate company?

It's one of several brands in the group that Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca form together. Sedighi.ca is Ali Sedighi's growth, marketing and technology consulting company, and BizConsulting.ca focuses its work on feasibility, validation and planning.

Do you only work with HVAC businesses?

No. Our group has deep experience in home heating, which is where our published case studies come from, but feasibility and planning methods apply to any small business. We're open about which results come from which sector.

Where are you located?

The group is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we work with clients across Canada in person, by video call, and by phone, text and email.
